Mandy Rose was recently a guest on the Gorilla Position podcast, and the popular SmackDown Superstar talked about what it was like to approach WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to pitch the storyline in the first place. #
"I got the courage to go into Vince’s [McMahon] office and show him this pitch, and then with the help of everyone? It’s been so much fun and it involves so many different people too," he explained. "We’ve taken it slow, little by little, and not had the fans get tired of seeing it. They want to see more and it’s just done really well."
Rose went on to talk about what the storyline has been like for her, and it sounds like she's been having a blast as the unlikely love interest of Otis on SmackDown. "It’s been awesome and it’s been such a fun ride," she started. "I’m really grateful and happy."
"I never thought that this story would resonate this well with the fans and be so exciting. I’m just really proud..it was a group effort, we all [performers and writers] kind of came up with this."
Unfortunately, the writer responsible for this storyline leading into WrestleMania was released by WWE when they culled talent to save money during the COVID-19 crisis. It has remained popular since, though.
