Earlier this week, we told you that Mike Kanellis had requested his release from WWE.

While we still don't know whether that's been granted (especially after the company signed him and his wife Maria to multi-year deals a few months ago), Maria has now weighed in on the matter and she's clearly standing behind her husband.

Along the way, she's also cleared up some lingering questions from fans, including addressing rumours that she's also asked to be released. Maria has also debunked claims that Mike has had any time off from WWE due to past substance abuse issues, something many fans have speculated could be to blame for the way he's been used.

Check out Maria's comments below and stay tuned for updates on his status as we have them.
