It was recently revealed that Mike and Maria Kanellis have signed new five-year deals with WWE, both of which are reportedly worth $500,000 a year. However, on Monday's RAW, Maria announced her pregnancy and went on to emasculate and attack her husband in what appeared to be a blatant burial.
Since then, we've heard reports that WWE was trying to punish the real-life husband and wife because she didn't tell them about her pregnancy until after signing a new contract. Now, Maria has responded to those claims on Twitter and clearly isn't happy.
"I'm starting to wonder when the Wrestling 'News' sites are gonna realize they are getting played by sources desperate for attention," she wrote. "Attacking a pregnant women with false accusations could get you fired in another profession. Be professional. Do the research. Don't become puppets."
"Furthermore, some of these 'reporters' used to beg me for interviews when I was on the indys. You want me to start taking photos of your emails and sending them out? I don't think so. Just sit back and enjoy the show. Because I certainly am enjoying all of you looking like fools. That's all I want to say on that."
"I'd rather do my job, enjoy my daughter, and rest for my pregnancy," she concluded. It's easy to see why Maria is going on the defence here and insinuating that she misled WWE about her pregnancy has understandably struck a nerve.
The truth about whether Mike really is being buried will become clearer soon depending on how things play out in the coming weeks. What do you guys think about these remarks?
