Mark Henry Says That He's Not Surprised That Hulk Hogan Was Booed Because He Never Tried To Fix His Problems

The former World Heavyweight Champion isn't surprised that the WWE Hall of Famer was booed because Mark Henry feels that Hulk Hogan never tried to fix the situation regarding his racist tirade.

One person wasn’t surprised that Hulk Hogan was booed on Monday.

For those of you who've been living under a rock for the past week, WWE brought back Hulk Hogan on the special RAW premiere and LA wasn't too kind to the WWE Hall of Famer. The boos were so bad that it’s been the main talking point coming out of the Netflix premiere.

Mark Henry has never been shy about expressing his feelings. The former World Heavyweight Champion was outspoken when WWE opted to bring Henry back in 2018.

“I wasn’t going to roll out the red carpet and start going to have dinner with him if he wasn’t willing to do all the s**t that I said he needed to do,” Henry said to Heavy.com. “To start, he needs to go to some of these black universities, to these law students and let them grill him and own it and apologize. Not because you got caught, but apologize because you honestly feel remorse. He said that he found God and he touched my heart when he said that, because I know what God will do, so if God touched him, God will also say speak up, and when you reveal your past, you can go on in the future and I still don’t think he’s still completely revealed it.”

And Henry’s opinions about Hogan haven’t changed since then. The former WWE star spoke to TMZ about Hulk Hogan’s appearance on RAW and Henry wasn’t surprised by the reaction.

“Right now, with the social climate and the things that he’s said and done and lack of effort to try to fix it, people are gonna come down him. I never had an issue with him before I heard all of the stuff. Even then, I believe they’ve given him second chances. Anybody that knows me knows that I’m a ‘fix it’ person. I’m not gonna dwell on the negative. I’m not gonna talk about the past. We’re going forward. He never wanted to go forward and fix it. That’s what happens when you think that everything is gonna go away. It’s not gonna go away,” said Henry.

As mentioned in his 2018 interview, Henry suggested that Hogan tour Black colleges to apologize for his remarks, but the 53-year-old stated that Hogan felt that the whole situation would blow over in time.

“He thinks it’s gonna go away. That it’s not gonna be that dark cloud over his career. I offered to say hey, let's do a tour of the black colleges and law schools and explain what happened. He didn’t want to do that,” said Henry.

It should be interesting to see how WWE handles Hulk Hogan moving forward. There’s reports that the company is considering turning him heel, but that still won’t erase how fans feel about him.
