Matt Hardy Returns To In-Ring Action On RAW; Suffers Decisive Loss To Buddy Murphy

He wasn't Broken or Woken, but former Tag-Team Champion Matt Hardy returned to in-ring action on Raw tonight. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like he'll be getting any kind of push. More past the jump...

After months of speculation that Matt Hardy might be planning to debut the "Broken" character he first introduced back in Impact Wrestling, the former Tag-Team Champion returned to in-ring action on Raw as... well, himself.

Hardy looked to be in great shape, though, and appeared to be all set for a competitive match with Buddy Murphy - until it became clear that this was going be little more than a squash.

Matt got some offense in at the start, but "The Best Kept Secret" laid him out with a series of knee strikes after a few minutes. This bout seemed only to exist to set up the Aleister Black/Buddy Murphy face-off that occurred afterwards, and it wouldn't be at all surprising if Hardy vanished from TV again.
