Matt Hardy Shares His Thoughts On Age Being "Irrelevant" In Wrestling: "Talent Is What's Relevant"

Rumour has it that Matt Hardy is planning to leave WWE once his contract expires and he's now shared some very interesting comments on why age shouldn't matter in wrestling because it's ultimately about talent.

Since returning to WWE television, Matt Hardy has been used as an enhancement talent and that's something he's clearly not happy about. As a result, it's widely believed that the veteran Superstar will leave the company once his current contract expires on March 1st.

Now, in the YouTube video below, he talks about why he doesn't think age should matter in wrestling because it's ultimately all about talent (this definitely seems like a veiled dig of sorts at WWE).

"Something I've seen seen recently online, probably wrestling Twitter more than anywhere else, should old guys beat young guys?" Hardy said. "Or should the young guys, the young talent always beat older talent, or the veterans?"

"It comes down to this—age is really irrelevant. If you can still go in the ring, if you're still entertaining, and you're still good and you have a lot to contribute to the show on a full-time basis—age is irrelevant, talent is what's relevant. If you're talented, you should be utilized to the best of your ability."
