Last night, Matt Hardy confirmed that he has parted ways with WWE due to the company not giving him the creative control over his character he desires during the final few years of his in-ring career.

Now, though, it's been confirmed that Hardy's first post-WWE appearance will be at The Big Event 18 in Queens, New York, on Saturday, March 7th. He won't be wrestling there as this is a convention, but he'll cross paths with some familiar faces as Intercontinental Champion Braun Strowman and WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart are also scheduled to appear.

Rumours continue to swirl that Hardy is heading to All Elite Wrestling, but he's a free agent for now, and nothing has been confirmed. However, it definitely feels like that would be a natural fit for Hardy.

We'll keep you guys updated.
