Despite there being some serious (albeit completely unfounded) accusations aimed at Matt Riddle by a woman he claims has been stalking both him and his wife over the past couple of years, the former NXT Superstar still made his main roster debut during Friday's SmackDown when he defeated Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles.
In an interview which took place shortly before that with ESPN's Ariel Helwani, Riddle talked about what sort of relationship he has both with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and NXT boss Triple H.
"Honestly, with Triple H, amazing," he explained. "I don’t think we’re like family but he’s shown me videos of his kids imitating my entrance in their house during the quarantine. We jib-jab, we joke around. I think we both appreciate hard work in sports entertainment, we appreciate the business."
As for Vince, they've only met a couple of times, but Riddle sounds happy with how things have gone. "I think a lot of people like you said, because of my background stuff, don’t challenge me. I feel like every time I’ve spoken with him or had conversations with him, he challenges me, or he corrects something, ‘Hey, you shouldn’t do that.’ It’s all good stuff, it’s all knowledgeable. I honestly like dealing with Vince."
We know Vince's opinion of Riddle hasn't necessarily been overly positive in the past, but he definitely has the chance to change things now, and it will be interesting seeing what comes next for him.
