Matt Riddle made his debut on SmackDown this week as advertised, despite recent allegations of sexual assault. To be fair, the segment was pre-taped, but there are still those who believe that WWE should have held off on airing his match until further notice.
At any rate, The King of Bros interrupted AJ Styles' Intercontinental Championship celebration, and when the Phenomenal One threw a punch, the match was made. After a solid, hard-hitting back-and-forth encounter, Riddle was able to pick up the win after a distraction from Daniel Bryan allowed him to hit his Bro Derek finisher on Styles for the 3-count.
Pretty major victory for a debuting talent, but it'll be interesting to see whether these allegations result in Riddle being pulled from TV in the future. For what it's worth, the former NXT star is denying the claims and has gotten his legal team involved, so we'll just have to see what happens.
