What a difference a few months make! Earlier this year, we heard that WWE wasn't even considering signing Matt Riddle because marijuana had led to him being released from UFC but it now appears as if the stage is being set for him to become a major star in WWE. Why? Well, they've signed the independent wrestling sensation up for a three-year contract which shows they must have faith in him.

This news isn't a surprise because he's been pulling out of a lot of independent dates lately but what WWE has planned for him remains something of a mystery for the time being. Common sense says that he'll debut in NXT but given how talented a wrestler he's become since debuting in 2015, you have to hope that the company isn't mulling over ultimately making him part of the Cruiserweight division.

Do you think Riddle made the right decision to turn down New Japan Pro Wrestling's offer to join WWE? As always, be sure to share your thoughts on this news in the comments section below.
