When Elias was in NXT, he was rejected by the Full Sail crowd and many fans were quick to come to the conclusion that he would crash and burn on the main roster like Tyler Breeze and Adam Rose before him. Instead, he's thrived and while he too often takes on the role of jobber to the stars, it's easy to imagine his success continuing and that resulting in an eventual Universal title run.
That was something pointed out by WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley on Monday night's episode of RAW and shortly after the show went off the air, he took to Twitter to continue sharing that praise.
Having Foley say something like this is obviously a big win for Elias and with any luck, those in charge have taken note. With the Universal Championship tied up with Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman right now, it's hard to say when Elias could get the title but it will hopefully be sooner rather than later.
