Ashley Massaro was the 2005 Diva Search winner and she had a successful run in WWE before moving on from the company in 2008. After leaving the company, she was part of a lawsuit against the company regarding concussions and some troubling accusations came to light about WWE telling her not to report a sexual assault that allegedly took place on a Tribute for the Troops tour overseas.
We may not ever know what the story was there but since Massaro's death, a number of wrestlers have come together to raise money which will be used to help her daughter to pay for her education. Well, the $100,000 goal has now been met.
WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has campaigned hard to raise funds, going to far as to offer to spend an evening watching wrestling with fans if they gave a certain amount. He donated over $40,000 in total and even sold t-shirts with all the profits going to Ashley's daughter.
