Mickie James Reflects On Being Part Of WWE's All-Female EVOLUTION PPV In 2018

It's been a while since we've seen Mickie James in a WWE ring, but in a new Q&A, the WWE Superstar has reflected on her role at the Evolution PPV, and getting to face Trish Stratus and Lita at the show...

Mickie James was originally supposed to face Lita at Evolution in 2018, while Alexa Bliss was scheduled to square off with Trish Stratus. Unfortunately, when Bliss was injured, plans changed, and James was paired with Alicia Fox to take on the two WWE Hall of Famers in a tag team match.

It was a memorable bout, and one James made clear on MickieJames.com that she was happy to be part of.

"I think we had one of the best matches on the card," she said. "The reaction was organic. They (the fans in attendance) were genuinely reacting and were truly excited about the moment. Going on first I feel we had a real opportunity to set not only the stage for the rest of the PPV, but also to really set the bar for the rest of the ladies to follow."

As for what it meant to be part of WWE's first all-female PPV, she recalled it being a "special moment for us."

"We wanted it to feel like our WrestleMania. That’s why we went all out. It wasn’t just a typical PPV – it was super special for us. This was a first ever and what we’d hope to become a first of many to come. This was special for every woman in that locker room that night and we all wanted to give everything we had. It was Ladymania!" [Laughs]

Do you guys wish WWE would do another Evolution PPV?
