Mickie James may have been released by WWE, but she's already setting her sights on her future beyond the squared circle. As you may already know, she's released a number of country music albums in the past, including Strangers & Angels in 2010 and Somebody’s Gonna Pay in 2013.
Now, it seems she's back in the studio as James has shared some photos from a recent recording session and photoshoot. She's previously released three singles in 2019, and has opened shows for well-known country acts like Montgomery Gentry, Randy Houser, Gretchen Wilson and Rascal Flatts.
James has also opened up about her WWE departure on GAW TV, acknowledging that her time there is well and truly over. "For me I’m like, well, now if they think 41 is old there’s no way I’m coming back for one more run now," she explained. "And at the same time, knowing what I know now, would I want to? I don’t know."
Interestingly, James revealed that the person who told her during WrestleMania weekend that women's wrestling doesn't make any money remain employed by the company.
"I will say this. The person that was/is responsible for me feeling like s**t and like for, I feel like, completely trying to sabotage or devalue me and make feel less than is still very much employed," the former Divas Champion confirmed. "And that’s f***ing the worst, you know what I mean?"
