Mickie James Throws Shade At Recent WWE Release With Telling SIMPSONS Meme

Along with several other Superstars, WWE veteran Mickie James was released from the company last Thursday, and the former Women's champion has now addressed her firing on social media with a Simpsons meme.

As part of what has now seemingly become an annual talent "purge," WWE released several high-profile Superstars last week, and Mickie James was one of the more surprising names on the list.

The 20-year veteran hadn't competed in the ring in a while, but was being utilized on commentary, and it was generally assumed that she must have suffered an injury and was simply waiting to be medically cleared to wrestle. Clearly, that wasn't the case.

We still don't know the circumstances behind the individual firings, but James has now addressed her release by sharing a very telling Simpsons meme on Twitter.

She might be joking, of course, but given some of the things we've heard about WWE's less than sensitive method of wishing Superstars luck in their future endeavours, we're inclined to believe Mickie's parting was not particularly amicable.

It remains to be seen what's next for James, but there are already rumors of a potential All Elite Wrestling signing (we can't see that happening, to be honest), and there's always a chance she decides to take a break from wrestling to focus on her music career.
