Mike and Maria Kanellis will be staying with WWE after all. According to a report from
Pro Wrestling Sheet, the 205 Live couple have signed a new 5-year deal with the promotion.
Earlier this year, the duo reportedly requested their release from the company due to being unhappy with the way they’ve been used; however, Maria addressed the rumors by denying that she did such a thing.
Both have been prominently featured on 205 Live since being transitioned to the cruiserweight show in January. A few weeks ago, Maria reminded everyone that her WWE contract was set expire in three weeks, though she did sarcastically respond to a fan asking "contracts where" by stating that it was to their gym memberships.
Kanellis didn’t appear on the cruiserweight show this past week and went onto social media to praise the 205 Live brand and state that
WWE officials didn’t care about the division despite the hard work of the wrestlers.
This seemed to be a signal that Mike & Maria are indeed on their way out of the company; however, it appears to not be the case as the couple are reportedly happy with the contracts that they signed. There’s no word on whether the duo entertained other options outside of the promotion before re-signing with the WWE.
