Sporting News recently caught up with WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley to discuss a number of topics and among them was NXT upcoming move to the USA Network. That's going to result in the developmental brand's wrestlers getting more exposure and money and should mean that there's no longer a rush for them to move to the main roster.
According to Rawley, though, not every NXT Superstar is actually interested in appearing on
RAW and
SmackDown Live moving forward!
"They are as unique as it comes and that’s why they’ve been upgraded to this platform," he said. "Then, NXT was essentially a stepping stone, an opportunity to showcase what you’ve got with the only goal to get to the main roster. Now, there’s guys on NXT that have no desire to move to ‘RAW’ or ‘SmackDown’ because a lot of people don’t consider moving to ‘RAW’ or ‘SmackDown’ a vertical move anymore. A lot of people now consider it a horizontal move."
It's a fair point and, if we're being honest, for many Superstars, moving to the main roster has been a downwards move. Rawley's career certainly hasn't benefited from it and the list of wrestlers who were top stars in NXT but are now essentially enhancement talent is a long one.
What do you guys think?
