There's been a lot of discussion about Brock Lesnar's role at Money in the Bank last weekend and now Dave Meltzer has shed more light on his appearance in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Apparently, he was hidden from everyone until it was time to head down to the ring and in order to keep plans for The Beast from leaking online, everyone backstage was told that Ali would be winning the match. Earlier that week, the plan was for Drew McIntyre to get the briefcase, so Lesnar being brought in was clearly a last-minute decision.

The wrestlers in the match were told that Ali would not be winning but would end up on top of the ladder at the end of the match ready for an eighth, mystery wrestler to come in and knock him down. Only Ali knew it would be Lesnar, though.

The finish was reportedly written with the hope fans would be angry that the Superstars in the match went through hell and Lesnar won without taking a single bump (it worked).
