WWE has announced that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff have been hired as full-time Executive Directors of RAW and SmackDown Live. Heyman will be taking charge of the Monday night show and Bischoff will be leading the blue brand, with both men reporting directly to Vince McMahon (Bischoff, meanwhile, is expected to work closely with executives from FOX).
Now, PW Insider has revealed that WWE started talking to Heyman about this role as far back as February. Bischoff's deal, meanwhile, came together in recent weeks.
WWE first offered Heyman the role around the same time Bruce Prichard was hired as Senior Vice President and he's actually been working on a number of storylines since then, including those involving Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey.
As for Bischoff, he's been working on pre-production of Netflix's planned Hulk Hogan biography and has quietly cancelled some upcoming personal appearances recently because of this hiring. While both men are reporting to Vince, they will be in charge of their respective shows and there's already a lot of talk about where this leaves Triple H, for example.
