Bray Wyatt was defeated by Randy Orton at WrestleMania with a single RKO, a disappointing conclusion to a feud that saw The Fiend burned alive and return with a new look...only to quickly abandon it (likely as a result of the negative reaction from wrestling fans on social media). While it looked like WWE had a fresh direction planned for Wyatt the following night on RAW, he's since vanished.
Many believe that was in an effort to keep the spotlight on Alexa Bliss' new gimmick, but with fans back at shows, now feels like the right time to make use of the former Universal Champion. After all, The Fiend character was always over with live crowds, and both RAW and SmackDown need fresh feuds.
Unfortunately, the latest update on Wyatt's status - which comes our way from Ringside News - points to him being sidelined due to an undisclosed medical issue. There are no details available beyond that, but this sounds like it could be similar to what happened with Keith Lee. He was gone for months due to a similarly secretive injury, and it's hard not to wonder whether this might be concussion-related.
The impact those have on athletes receives a lot of mainstream attention these days, so it wouldn't be overly surprising if WWE is looking to keep those quieter than they have in the past.
We certainly hope that whatever is going on with Wyatt is something he is able to get over quite quickly, though seeing as he's been gone since April, it could potentially be quite serious.
Keep checking back here for updates.
