On last Monday's episode of RAW, Braun Strowman was stripped of his chance to challenge Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble after destroying Vince McMahon's limo. While it was initially reported that he was taken out of the match because he wouldn't be healed up in time, that was shown to be inaccurate last night when he competed against Finn Balor. So, what exactly has been going on?
Well, it's said that Strowman's failing to recover from his surgery with the four-week timetable is what led to the change. Apparently, the Monster Among Men overtrained and suffered a setback despite being given a strict rehabilitation programme to follow by physical therapists. When he then forgot his lines during that confrontation with Brock Lesnar, it sounds as if that was the last straw for Vince.
Whether or not he has backstage heat is hard to say but it seems like Strowman's push has come to an abrupt halt and he may be out of the Universal Championship picture for a while from here.
