Despite rumors that The Undertaker was taking bookings for other promotions, we found out last week that he'd signed a new contract with
WWE and would be making semi-regular appearances for the company moving forward.
As it turns out, The Phenom
was looking elsewhere because he "thought his career was over after the match in Australia," and had started lining up outside paydays. According to
Dave Meltzer,
WWE made the Dead Man “an offer he couldn’t refuse financially,” with the caveat that he could no longer do any shows for other promotions.
Apparently, The Undertaker will still appear at the
AEW-adjacent Starcast II convention during
Double Or Nothing weekend, however, because there's simply no way he can contractually get out of it.
We still don't know what the future holds for the legendary Superstar in
WWE, but it's highly unlikely that he'll engage in any long-term feuds.
