More WWE Releases Expected Later Today And It Could Be VERY Bad News For The NXT UK Roster

WWE released some huge names at the start of June, including Aleister Black and Lana, but it's looking like we can expect another wave of releases later today...and it might be a bad time to be part of NXT UK!

There have been rumblings for a while that more releases could be on the way from WWE, and it sounds like those might be announced later today.

Currently, we have no idea whether this will be more big name Superstars like Braun Strowman and Ruby Riott (as WWE looks to scrap expensive deals with talent as part of their cost-cutting measures), behind the scenes personnel in Stamford, or something else entirely.

However, there are rumblings that the NXT UK roster will be culled. That's not overly surprising as WWE only launched the brand to compete with ITV's World of Sport. Snatching up UK talent, WWE created something of a monopoly in the country, and when the ITV show ended, they were left the dominant brand.

COVID has meant no one has been running shows, though, so NXT UK has been largely forgotten.

So have WWE's plans to launch versions of NXT across the globe, so we could be about to see some noteworthy names freed up on that side of the pond.

Needless to say, you'll want to continue checking back here today as we'll be keeping a close eye on this story as it develops...
