MVP Names Himself New United States Champion At EXTREME RULES After Apollo Crews Is Unable To Compete

There were a lot of weird creative decisions during last night's Extreme Rules PPV, including MVP naming himself the new United States Champion after Apollo Crews was unable to compete. Check it out...

Sasha Banks "winning" the RAW Women's Championship wasn't the only questionable title win during last night's Extreme Rules PPV as MVP also declared himself the new United States Champion. While Apollo Crews was supposed to defend the belt during the show, Tom Phillips confirmed that he wasn't cleared to compete in this bout.

As a result, MVP decided that he was the winner by forfeit and, well, that was the end of that!

Whether this decision will be overturned on RAW tonight is hard to say, but WWE won't be doing themselves any favours by having two titles change hands only to then reveal that neither "victory" counted. It's the sort of booking WCW pulled in its final days, and that's not a comparison which reflects particularly well on WWE.

How did you feel about MVP becoming the United States Champion at Extreme Rules last night? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
