There were rumors that Mustafa Ali would be replaced in the Elimination Chamber WWE Championship match by either Andrade or Rey Mysterio, but tonight on SmackDown LIVE we found out that it'd actually be a member of The New Day.
We weren't sure which one at first, but right before the big gauntlet match kicked-off during the last hour of the show, it was revealed that former Intercontinental and Tag-Team champion Kofi Kingston would enter the chamber this Sunday.
Look, we all love Kofi, but this seems like a bit of a wasted opportunity. Ali had only just arrived on the main roster before being named as a competitor in the match, so WWE really should have used his injury as a chance to elevate another up-and-coming Superstar in his place.
At any rate, Kofi went on to pin WWE Champion Daniel Bryan in the gauntlet match. More on that HERE.
