New Details Emerge About What WWE Has Planned For Roman Reigns Heading Into Next Year's ROYAL RUMBLE PLE

As expected, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns' next PLE appearance will be at 2024's Royal Rumble in January. However, those of you hoping for a rematch with LA Knight will likely be disappointed.

The red-hot babyface came up short at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia thanks to outside interference, but it seems his chase for the world title has ended. For now, at least.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H has big plans for the Tribal Chief at the Royal Rumble which don't involve Knight. Currently, there's no word on who Reigns' opponent will be or whether the match will set the stage for whatever he ends up getting up to at WrestleMania

The hope among fans is that Cody Rhodes will challenge the Head of the Table at the Show of Shows, and earlier this year, he explained why his loss to Reigns at WrestleMania hasn't been a huge talking point since then (even after he was screwed out of the win).

"One thing I didn’t want to do was whine," the American Nightmare explained. "My buddy, Sean Ross Sapp, half buddy, half not. He was saying, 'I wish Cody would talk about how he got screwed at WrestleMania.' I’m thinking, that’s not the way to do it, I’d be kicking my own ass."

"No. The story is unfinished. It is. I wanted to move and try to get back to finishing it. That’s where I was at. I quickly didn’t get over it, it’s not a pain you get over, but I quickly was able to ‘chin up’ and move on to the next thing. Coming to Raw was really tough for me, from a character standpoint and a human standpoint. Very tough."

Reigns isn't going to be at Survivor Series this weekend but the show is still shaping up to be a must-watch. Here's the full, confirmed card for WWE's final 2023 PLE:

Men's War Games Match
Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and "Senor Money in the Bank" Damian Priest)

Women's War Games Match
Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley, Kairi Sane, Asuka, and WWE Women's Champion Iyo Sky)

Women's World Championship Match
Zoey Stark vs. Rhea Ripley (c)

Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz vs. Gunther (c)

Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar

There are also rumours CM Punk will return during the show, though we're slightly less optimistic that's going to happen based on recent reports. With that in mind, we're not getting our hopes up that the Best in the World shows up in Chicago to challenge the Head of the Table to a match!

As for Rhodes, he's crossed paths with The Bloodline a few times recently, so perhaps they'll come looking for revenge later this evening?
