New Details Emerge Regarding Why Asuka Lost The SMACKDOWN Women's Title And WRESTLEMANIA Plans

More details are starting to do the rounds regarding the last-minute decision to make Charlotte Flair the SmackDown Women's Champion ahead of her match at WrestleMania

It's now said that Vince McMahon wanted to give Flair more momentum heading into the Showcase of the Immortals as he feels like she's been considered a third wheel during the build-up to the match because of Becky Lynch's popularity and the fact Ronda Rousey is champion.

Dave Meltzer, meanwhile, has claimed that Vince didn't want the SmackDown Women's Championship match to be a bout no one cares about, hence why the decision was made just a few hours before the show went on the air.

As for Asuka, she's currently not slotted into any match on the Grandest Stage of Them All and it's likely she will just be added to the Women's Battle Royal (assuming it takes place this year). As always, we'll keep you guys updated so be sure to stay tuned for more as we have it.
