There have been rumours that Michael Cole may be close to wrapping up his on-screen role in WWE but a new report clarifies what's happening with RAW's lead commentator both behind and in front of the camera.

Despite rumours that Michael Cole may be winding down his on-screen role in WWE, it's now been made clear that there are no plans to take him off television in the near future despite him revealing in the past that he would be interested in transitioning into a full-time backstage role with the company.

It's said that Cole is the man in charge when it comes to announcers in WWE and that means everyone from Corey Graves to Nigel McGuinness report to him (Cole also works behind the scenes in NXT).

While many fans find fault with Cole's work, it's not easy for him when he's basically Vince McMahon's mouthpiece and has to constantly hype various WWE shows and promotional partners. He's infinitely better than the likes of Jonathan Coachman, Booker T, and countless others in WWE, that's for sure.

Are you glad Cole is sticking around on RAW? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
