Since Leader of the Yes Movement Daniel Bryan made the leap to AEW as American Dragon Bryan Danielson, it's become clear that they're two very different characters. Danielson has unleashed a series of match of the year candidates over the past couple of months, and in interviews, he's spoken extremely positively about both WWE and Vince McMahon.
Now, Fightful Select has shared some backstage news on the conclusion of Danielson's time in WWE.
Apparently, him being added to the WrestleMania main event alongside Roman Reigns and Edge was a last-minute decision. He also received a great deal of praise for putting the Head of the Table over during his final match on that April 30 edition of SmackDown when he was "banished" from the blue brand after losing.
"Bryan handled things so well that a lot of people didn’t think he was actually leaving or taking any time off," one source told the site. "We couldn’t have asked for more."
Those within the company believe the door is open for a possible WWE return down the line because Danielson left "on very good terms." We don't see that happening for the foreseeable, though, as he's clearly having a blast performing in the sort of matches WWE simply does not deliver.
However, we're sure an eventual WWE Hall of Fame induction is inevitable.
