Pro Wrestling Sheet has gained additional details on why The Revival requested their releases this week from WWE.

The news was first reported on Fightful.com and then BodySlam.net, with Dave Meltzer eventually confirming that the former NXT Tag Team champions did indeed request their release after their match against Lucha House Party.

The Revival asking for their release stems from the duo's frustration with how the company treats their tag team division. It’s known that Vince McMahon isn’t high on tag team wrestling and the former NXT Tag Team champions' frustrations boiled over when their tag team match on Monday was using as a cutaway segment.

At this point, the request has been denied as the company isn’t releasing talent due to not wanting wrestlers to jump ship to All Elite Wrestling.

Pro Wrestling Sheet’s sources say there’s been additional communication between the two sides since Monday, but it’s unclear if anything has been resolved. It’s also worth noting that The Revival have a “decent amount of time” left on their contracts.
