The July 1, 2025 episode of WWE NXT is being taped in advance on June 24th to allow for some travel leeway as WWE will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for this upcoming Friday Night SmackDown and Saturday's WWE Night of Champions premium live event.

While we don't yet have spoilers of what was taped, three matches were announced in advance, and a few other things were hinted at.

One of those confirmed matches will be Yoshiki Inamura against Jasper Troy to determine who will be challenging Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at the next pay-per-view, which is NXT Great American Bash, happening July 12th at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia.

Last week, Inamura pinned Trick Williams and was granted an opportunity for the TNA World Championship. He gave that up to his friend and tag team partner, Josh Briggs, who came up short on tonight's episode against Williams. This was partly to just do something nice for his friend, but Inamura also had stated he had his eyes set on the NXT Championship.

Tonight, The Ruler of NXT went to the ring for a promo, calling out someone to step up and challenge him, which Inamura was quick to do, saying that when he went back to Japan, he missed the crowd and NXT as a whole, and he's ready to face Femi. Unfortunately for him, he was attacked by Jasper Troy, who had also attacked Je'Von Evans earlier in the show to get some revenge for Evans saying that he would win the NXT Championship before Troy.

Going back to the TNA title situation, after Williams retained the title over Briggs, he was attacked by Joe Hendry, who later confirmed that he is looking to get the TNA World Championship back at TNA Slammiversary, set for July 20th at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. In the meantime, Trick's alliance with The High Ryze has led to Wes Lee volunteering to face Hendry next week on NXT to try to take him out for Williams, who will owe him a favor if he does.

The other match currently scheduled for TNA Slammiversary is Moose defending the TNA X Division Championship against Leon Slater.

One more match was confirmed for next week's NXT, where Myles Borne will face Lexis King due to a backstage confrontation the two had with each other where King made light of Borne's hearing impairment.

Ava has also said that she demands both Ethan Page and Ricky Saints to be in her office, as she wants to settle the ongoing feud between them. She also stumbled upon Hank Walker and Tank Ledger having been attacked backstage, possibly by DarkState, so that mystery will unfold next week as well as some fallout from tonight's episode.

We can expect more on building Jacy Jayne against Jordynne Grace for WWE Evolution, Sol Ruca and Zaria dealing with Izzi Dame manipulating Tatum Paxley into a false friendship, and whatever is next for the saga of the new Heritage Cup champion Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo in his rivalry with Tony D'Angelo, who does not trust Luca Crusifino and laid him out with a punch.
