Next Year's WRESTLEMANIA May Not Take Place In Hollywood, California Due To COVID-19

WWE was forced to move this year's Showcase of the Immortals from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay to the empty Performance Center, but it now appears as if 2021's Show of Shows could also be at risk...

Will next year's WrestleMania also take place from the empty WWE Performance Center?

It certainly looks like the Show of Shows could be at risk, as The Los Angeles Times is reporting that restrictions on large gathering in Los Angeles are unlikely to be lifted until 2021. The information came from a leaked internal Los Angeles Fire Department email that was obtained by the newspaper.

On Monday, Mayor Eric Garcetti stated that "large gatherings such as concerts and sporting events may not be approved in the city for at least 1 year" as the thought is they wouldn't be safe until a vaccine for COVID-19 is ready.

Needless to say, people flying into Los Angeles from all over the world for an event with tens of thousands of people in attendance is a definite safety hazard in the midst of a global pandemic, so WrestleMania being at risk isn't a surprise. If the decision is made to move it out of Hollywood, there's still no guarantee it will be able to happen in another city.

As of right now, WrestleMania is scheduled for March 28th, 2010 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. We'll hopefully have more details sooner rather than later, so stay tuned.
