In recent years, WWE has been scooping up an awful lot of independent talent, with most of the credit for that going to Triple H and NXT. However, someone who many fans believe has been overlooked is Nick Aldis, an NWA wrestler who has worked for promotions like IMPACT Wrestling, Global Force Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Noah, Ring of Honor, and pretty much anywhere and everywhere else!
Aldis is also the husband of current WWE Superstar Mickie James and you'd think it would be a no-brainer for WWE to sign him up, right? Well, it appears as if there are those who don't agree.
"They can take it however they want," he started. "It’s my understanding that a certain man who has a lot of power in that company who I have modelled myself after a lot over the years, has a replica of the 10 Pounds Of Gold on his office wall. All I’m saying is if he ever wants an opportunity to hold the real one in his hands, all he’s gotta do is pick up the phone."
"It might be a chance for me to prove to the birds he’s got buzzing around him that have been burying me to him that he’s been making an ill-informed decision when he had the chance."
It sounds like someone within WWE has talked Triple H out of signing Aldis so you can see why he's feeling more than a little resentful about that! With any luck, things will change in the near future but as of right now, it appears as if he'll have to continue making a name for himself on the indie circuit.
