Nikki Cross Defeats Alexa Bliss To Earn Another Shot At Bayley's SMACKDOWN Women's Championship

During last night's episode of SmackDown, Bayley said she was willing to defend her title against either Alexa Bliss or Nikki Cross...however, they would have to compete in a match to decide a new #1 contender!

SmackDown kicked off with Women's Tag Team Champions Bayley (who currently holds the SmackDown Women's title) and Sasha Banks (who's kinda, sorta the RAW Women's Champion) talking themselves up. After Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross came out to confront them, Bayley offered one of them a chance...if they faced each other in a match!

Both women were hesitant, but Cross ultimately pushed Bliss to the ground and marched down to the ring to try and earn another shot at Bayley's title after falling short at Extreme Rules on Sunday.

It was a competitive bout, but when Bliss went to check on an apparent rib injury Cross had suffered, she was rolled up to earn the Scottish WWE Superstar the 1-2-3. After the match, Cross recovered and stood tall, and there definitely appeared to be some tension between the two women.

Backstage, things were awkward between the two women, but Bliss said that Cross deserves the win, and they hugged. She then said that Cross needs to focus on taking the title from Bayley, but it's definitely possible that we could see some sort of double cross down the line.

As always, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated on how this one develops.
