As you've probably seen by now, rumours are circulating that WWE may have been planning a match between The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. It was said that The Rock would win the 2019 Royal Rumble in order to set up a Universal Championship bout between the two cousins at the event. However, it's said that those plans were nixed when Roman was diagnosed with leukemia.
Well, it seems as if the match was never actually being planned because Dave Meltzer has confirmed that it was never actually happening. "This didn’t sound believable, but I checked. Not true at all."
The Rock hasn't wrestled a match since WrestleMania 29 but speculation continues running rampant that he will return to the squared circle in the not too distant future. Whether or not that will be at next year's Showcase of the Immortals remains to be seen but we'll find out soon enough. What would you guys like to see from The Rock?
