Now That Daniel Bryan Has Been Cleared, Edge Responds To Fans Wondering If He Might Also Make A Comeback
Like Daniel Bryan, Edge was forced to cut his wrestling career short due to a persistent injury, and The Rated-R Superstar's fans are now curious if Bryan's return could pave the way for a comeback of his own.
Daniel Bryan being medically cleared to return to the ring 2 years after being forced to retire was unprecedented, and because it was something nobody ever expected to see, fans are now wondering if WWE might also take a look at Edge's case.
Edge, a.k.a. Adam Copeland, has been out of action since 2011 after doctors deemed it too dangerous for him to continue to take bumps. Unfortunately, the former Rated-R Superstar's diagnosis was a lot different to Bryan's.
Here's what Edge has to say on the matter during the latest edition of the E&C podcast:
“I greatly appreciate that people would like to see me have one more match or come back or ‘Daniel Bryan got cleared so why can’t you?’ I will never be cleared. Mine is a completely different injury. He had neck issues, but it wasn’t neck issues that retired him initially, it was the concussion issues. I never had concussion issues.
What I have is cervical spinal stenosis, look it up.” Edge continued, “I have stupid neck, just look it up. You can look up ‘stupid neck’ and they’ll probably be a picture of my neck. Just do me a favor and look it up and you will realize that the WWE will never medically clear me to compete again. And I appreciate it, but that’s all there is to that.”
A shame no doubt, but Edge now seems happy enough to put his wrasslin' days behind him and focus on a budding acting career.
