According to Mike Johnson of
PWInsider, NXT and 205 Live star Oney Lorcan reportedly requested his release at the end of October. As of now, his request has not been granted. It’s also not known if the company will release the 33-year-old.
Lorcan has mostly been wrestling on 205 live, with his last match taking place against NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Lio Rush. Despite a valiant effort, Rush would win the match-up.
The Boston native originally signed with the company in 2015 and was mostly used as enhancement talent until 2018. From then on, Lorcan formed a tag team with Danny Birch and both men made WWE fans take notice with their explosive style and exciting match-ups.
Lorcan has been tearing it up on the cruiserweight show since early 2019 by having great matches against the likes of Cedric Alexander, Drew Gulak, and Lio Rush. While he hasn’t won the cruiserweight championship, the WWE star has been featured prominently on 205 Live. At the moment, there’s no word on why Lorcan requested his release.
