During NXT Roadblock, there was a backstage segment where several WWE Superstars were upset over their recent misfortunes.

Hank Walker and Tank Ledger lamented how last year, they were winning the NXT Tag Team Championship titles around this time, and now, they're not even competing at all at NXT Stand & Deliver. Eli Knight was upset over how he didn't get an opportunity in the tag team No. 1 contenders tournament as well, due to how "Super" Sean Legacy and Elio LeFleur are both injured.

LeFleur mentioned that he is going to be out for six months, and that he will be forced to relinquish the WWE Speed Championship. There will be a tournament to crown who is the next champion, which appears to be starting on next week's episode of NXT, but no official matches have been announced.

LeFleur suggested that Knight should enter the tournament and go on to win it, as he'd like to see him be the next champion. Knight was previously scheduled for a potential title opportunity when he and Legacy both wrestled to a draw, making it unclear who would get the next shot at LeFleur's title.

Also set for next week's episode of NXT is a Triple Threat match between Josh Briggs, Jasper Troy, and Keanu Carver.

This is due to the match between Troy and Carver at Roadblock—a match wherein Briggs was the special guest referee—went down with some controversy as Troy pushed Briggs when he thought a two-count should have been a three-count, so Briggs kicked Troy with a big boot to the face. Carver capitalized on it for the victory, but after raising Carver's hand, Briggs then clotheslined him. A furious Carver approached NXT General Manager Robert Stone backstage to demand a match, with Stone saying all three would face off next week.

Kelani Jordan and Jaida Parker also were fighting backstage, which may turn into a match, along with all the fallout from NXT Stand & Deliver.

To recap, here is what we have for next week's NXT:

  • Triple Threat Match: Keanu Carver vs. Josh Briggs vs. Jasper Troy
  • WWE Speed Championship Tournament likely begins

Who do you think should be the next in line for the WWE Speed Championship? Do you have a favorite between Briggs, Carver, and Troy for next week? Toss out your predictions and other thoughts on these matches and the title being vacated in the comments section below!
