Mauro Ranallo was the voice of SmackDown Live before some apparent behind the scenes issues with John Bradshaw Layfield led to him almost parting ways with the company. However, he's since been making a splash in NXT and has done a great job of filling the void left by Corey Graves when he moved up to the main roster.
Now, PW Insider is reporting that we can expect to hear much more from him over the coming years as he's signed a new deal to stay on board as NXT's lead announcer.
It's said that the deal was signed several weeks ago and he will still be allowed to announce for various boxing and MMA events. It's a great move for Ranallo as he's widely considered the best announcer in the company and WWE must be happy as he hasn't been poached by All Elite Wrestling!
There's no word on how long his deal is but chances are it will be for around five years.
