NXT call-up Nikki Cross made her debut on Raw tonight, but she may not become a permanent fixture on the red brand.
Cross was introduced as Natalya and Bayley's mystery partner and had a great showing in a triple-threat match against The Riott Squad, setting up Liv Morgan for Bayley's top-rope elbow drop for the win. However, during the bout Michael Cole revealed that Nikki and the other black and gold brand call-ups - EC3, Heavy Machinery, Lars Sullivan and Lacey Evans - will actually be appearing on both Raw and SmackDown LIVE for the time being before settling on a main roster show.
This is certainly an interesting way to go about things, but it does suggest that WWE doesn't really have a plan in place for these guys moving forward. Perhaps they're simply waiting to see which brand gives them the best reaction? That's going to depend on the crowd, of course, and they didn't seem too high on The Twisted Sister in Memphis!
Clearly not many NXT fans in attendance.
