To no surprise, both The Hardy Boyz and Oba Femi retained their titles that were on the line during the WWE Roadblock special episode of NXT.

Matt and Jeff Hardy defended their TNA World Tag Team Championship titles against the NXT tag team champions, Axiom and Nathan Frazer, in a match that was supposed to settle who is the best tag team in the world right now. Since only the TNA tag titles were on the line, this was essentially a foregone conclusion—at least, more so than if this were a title-for-title match like Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer had on this same card.

This was the opening match of Roadblock, kicking things off with a bang. While Axiom and Nathan Frazer were keeping pace with The Hardy Boyz through and through, one massive mistake cost them the match when Frazer was pulled in the way of a missile dropkick from Axiom. Discombobulated over this mistake, Axiom was taken out with a Twisted Fate by Matt Hardy, while Jeff Hardy landed a Swanton Bomb on Frazer for the win.

Later on, before Oba Femi came out for his entrance, he had a run-in backstage with The Undertaker. The Phenom told him that he's been watching him and he's impressed, but he doesn't need to remind Femi how important his match would be, and told him to go defend his yard.

Femi did just that, but had to really fight to secure his victory, as Moose was more than a game challenger, nearly matching strength and speed with The Ruler of NXT the entire match. Ultimately, it was a powerbomb essentially out of nowhere that turned the tide and allowed Femi to put Moose down for a three-count.

Femi continues his NXT Championship run, which started when he defeated Trick Williams at New Year's Evil 63 days ago (on January 7, 2025)

The Hardy Boyz are currently on day 136 of their tag team title run after winning the titles from The System's Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards at Bound for Glory on October 26, 2024.

What do you think about these two sets of champions retaining their titles? What should be the next in line for the NXT vs. TNA crossovers and for these champions? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
