Has a WWE contract signing ever ended without a brawl? Anyway, tonight's episode of RAW definitely continued the tradition as Triple H and Seth Rollins came to blows in the middle of the ring.
The segment began with The Game berating Rollins for giving up the good life and pandering to the fans, but The Architect responded by telling Trips that it was never about that, and he just wants to become the person he was before he met his former mentor. After both men signed the contract, Hunter predictably took a cheap shot and knocked Rollins to the ground by attacking his bad knee. At this point a lot of people might have expected the return of Finn Balor, but instead Rollins managed to get the upper hand and lay a solid crutch (no, not crotch) shot to his enemy's back.
The stage is now set for a non-sanctioned match at Mania. What this basically means is that the two competitors will kick the crap out of each other by any and all means available to them, but it won't be your typical "wrestling" bout. This allows Rollins to avoid putting too much pressure on his wonky knee, while still delivering an exciting performance. There haven't actually been too many non-sanctioned fights in WWE in the past, but by far the most famous one also featured Triple H as he did battle with Shawn Michaels at SummerSlam 2002.
A very good segment in an otherwise uneventful RAW - though Goldberg did spear Brock again, so... there's that?
