During last week's episode of RAW, WWE announced that AJ Styles and Omos would square off in singles action the following Monday. Well, that's now been and gone, and Omos wasn't even on the show, never mind battling The Phenomenal One in the wake of their partnership reaching its end.
Instead, Styles faced Apollo Crews after accusing Omos of being scared of him and once again confronting NXT 2.0 Superstar Grayson Walker (who had been sitting in the front row). WWE didn't offer any sort of explanation for the giant's absence, though PWInsider has reported that Omos wasn't backstage at RAW and actually left Detroit earlier in the day, flying home.
It's unclear whether he's tested positive for COVID (we're guessing not if he flew home) or if there's something more to this story than currently meets the eye. Apparently, WWE has big plans for both Omos and Styles heading into WrestleMania season, hence why they rushed to end their tag team. With any luck, this isn't a Lars Sullivan scenario where anxiety has gotten the better of the big man.
It's been a frantic weekend for WWE either way. Several positive COVID results led to major changes to weekend house shows, hence why WWE Champion Big E, Bobby Lashley, Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins all missed RAW last night. Universal Champion Roman Reigns was also absent from house shows.
