WWE hasn't shied away from snatching up impressive international talent in recent years (Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka, Hideo Itami, etc.) and it's now being reported that the company has set its sights on Io Shirai. She'll reportedly be heading to the Performance Center in Orlando after he final Stardom show on June 17th to prepare for her eventual debut with WWE presumably as part of the NXT brand.

She's been on their radar since 2016 and while a deal was reached last May, that was withdrawn after it appears she might have some sort of heart issue which meant she failed the company's physical.

That's since been resolved, though, and she's been cleared to compete as a result. Apparently, WWE has made offers to a number of other wrestlers from Japan and the UK, including Toni Storm. She's currently set to compete at the upcoming UK Championship Tournament show so it could be that the company is looking at getting some British female talent to ensure the UK roster has some diversity.
