After Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal and the WWE championship match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, many speculated that Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax would close the show as the main event; however, it ended up being the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match.

According to PWInsider.com, original plans did call for Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax to close the pay-per-view, with the final segment being the Alexa Bliss Money in the Bank cash-in.

Those plans were changed prior to the PPV, and the call was made to have the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match headline the show. There’s no word on why WWE officials decided not to go with the RAW Women’s title match as the main event.
