Jinder Mahal was released from WWE in 2014 after a run as part of 3MB and after a few years on the indies, a considerably more jacked Mahal signed a new deal in 2016. While he didn't do a whole lot upon his return, he soon found himself in the WWE Championship picture on SmackDown Live and ultimately went on to beat Randy Orton to hold the title until AJ Styles later dethroned him.

However, Ryan Satin has now revealed that WWE originally had a very different idea in mind for the Modern Day Maharaja upon his return. Someone backstage reportedly pitched an idea where he would have been "The Mahal Monitor," a self-appointed backstage monitor of the WWE halls. Needless to say, that gimmick wouldn't have got him far and he certainly wouldn't have won any titles!

Ultimately, that idea was dropped and Mahal is no doubt very glad (even if he has fallen from grace somewhat). What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
