As with any fandom, there are always a few bad apples. That's undoubtedly the case with professional wrestling, something which is evident from an interaction former WWE and AEW star Paige/Saraya had with a fan at a signing this weekend.
Taking to X, she said, "Crazy I have to say this but. If you come to my signings.. please don’t try to kiss me anywhere. Especially ON MY MOUTH. He wasn’t able to because I moved. But Jesus f***ing Christ."
Needless to say, this is beyond unacceptable and downright creepy.
Many female wrestlers have spoken out about how male fans conduct themselves at signings and photograph opportunities, especially as some take the chance to get far too "hands-on" with these athletes. To say this was a step too far would be an understatement.
The IWC ("Internet Wrestling Community") has also let itself down over the past couple of days with one fan calling the returning Alexa Bliss an "old lady" after she defeated Chelsea Green and Michin on SmackDown to advance to Money in the Bank.
While Bliss had a tongue-in-cheek response to the insult, Green broke character to defend her fellow WWE Superstar.
"I think Alexa is amazing. I think she should be going to MITB," the former Women's United States Champion stated. "I think there’s absolutely no reason for you to pit us against eachother and tear me down to raise her up, or vice versa. It’s disgusting that in the process of defending YOUR fave, you felt the need to write this."
