Paige Reveals That She Was Once Interested In Becoming Ronda Rousey's Manager

Paige was forced to retire from in-ring competition earlier this year and while she currently has an authority role on SmackDown Live, she's also interested in becoming a manager for any number of Superstars.

Paige is no longer medically cleared for in-ring competition but the former NXT and Divas Champion is doing a fantastic job as SmackDown Live's General Manager and will hopefully continue to have a role like that in WWE for the foreseeable future. However, based on a new interview with the English wrestler, it sounds like she was initially more interested in taking on a Paul Heyman-type role.

"I will do anything," Paige said in regards to her future with the company and what roles she would like to fulfil moving forward. "Right now, I’m really happy being Smackdown General Manager. It’s opened so many different doors and I get to do so many different characters just being Smackdown General Manager – I get to be a good guy, bad guy, I get to do whatever I want."

"I would love to be a manager – kinda like Paul Heyman, one day," she continued. "I would love to do anything like that. I wanted to manage Ronda at one point, but she doesn’t need me!"

It would definitely have been interesting to pair Paige with Rousey but she's right that the former UFC star doesn't need a mouthpiece because she's been fantastic in promos since, well, day one.
