Paige was forced to retire from in-ring action after suffering a career-ending injury during a match with Sasha Banks at the end of 2017. She'd go on to serve as a manager for Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville for a time, while a memorable run as SmackDown General Manager would follow.
It's been a while since WWE has used Paige on TV, but she continues making an impact on Twitch.
Talking to fans on that platform, the former Divas Champion hinted at her in-ring future...and it may not be with WWE. "My contract is up in June of next year," the British wrestler confirmed. "Who knows if they would want to give me a new contract? Who’s to say they would want to? If they did, I’d love to have Twitch as a part of the contract."
That last part is obviously a reference to the fact WWE has banned active wrestlers from streaming on Twitch, and as that's such a big money earner for Paige, no one can blame her for wanting to continue building that audience (especially as she's not too active on Instagram and Twitter these days).
The biggest takeaway here, however, is that it sounds a lot like she could be cleared for in-ring action...if not, why would she be pondering her future in the pro wrestling industry this way?
If Paige does return, then she'll join the likes of Daniel Bryan, Edge, and Christian Cage who have been able to step back into the ring after they were forced to retire due to injuries. Paige recently revealed that she's started being able to lift more in the gym, a sign her neck strength is improving.
