On the January 13 episode of RAW, Penta made his WWE debut to great fanfare. The company treated him as a top star and has continued booking the former AEW wrestler as one in the weeks since.
Chris Van Vliet recently caught up with Penta and asked if WWE was always the goal. "Of course. It is the best company in the world," he said before addressing whether he ever had any doubts about reaching the company. "I never doubted myself, my talent, my energy, my passion for this sport. Yeah, I think this is the best for me to be here."
When it comes to dream matches in WWE, fans have plenty of ideas, but so does Penta. "I have a few names. But the truth is, no matter who is in the ring, no matter what he won, I want to win everything in WWE. John Cena, Punk, Cody, Seth Rollins, The Tribal Chief, Fatu, Bron Breakker. A lot of wrestlers I want for Penta."
"For example with CM Punk I had one match, he won, I need revenge," he continued. "The rematch with him, with Cody too. But for me, a special dream match is Penta versus John Cena or Penta versus Finn Balor."
The expectation is that Penta's brother, Ray Fenix, will eventually join him in WWE (for the time being, he's stuck under contract with AEW and unlikely to secure his release anytime soon).
"I love my brother. I love everything about my brother," Penta said. "When I team with my brother it’s very special because he is my real brother. For me, he is the best wrestler in the world. When I am in the corner and my brother is in the ring, I enjoy every move. When he gives me the tag, oh, it’s my turn."
Quizzed on whether he thinks they'll work together or as singles stars, he added, "Both is fine for me. I don’t know. [Maybe against each other?] Yeah, a lot of times in Mexico, every weekend, against each other. But now here is different. Now I am focused on myself. Now I am focused on the Royal Rumble. I am focused on WrestleMania. I am focused on everything here."
"When my brother has the opportunity with me, it’s okay. But now I am focused on myself," Penta concluded.
Regardless of what the future holds in store, the former Impact World Champion has a bright future in WWE and, when Fenix eventually joins him, the tag team division won't know what's hit it.
